Happy new year, and happy new fashion!

No Comments fashion, fblogger, menswear, menswear fashion styling, my words, review, style

London Collections is back with a bang, and is rebranded as London Fashion Week Mens, so it’s no wonder you might have spied lots of #LFWM hashtags over the last few days.

There’s a new home at 180 The Strand for the BFC, which has shown some very hot off the press shows, and Topman have cornered the Old Selfridges Hotel for their edgy designers. I have some personal faves so far, but watch this space for a review. Day four tomorrow!

The New Garconne for modern girls who like to dress like boys!

No Comments 55Factory, fashion, fblogger, lifestyle, my words, news, review, sara darling, style, Stylist

A must read book for 21st century tomboys…

Meaning: A young woman of the 1920s who rebelled against conventional ideas of ladylike behaviour and dress. Otherwise interpreted as girls with attitude and a great sense of personal style.

Thankfully, this type of woman is still around today, and if you’re a slouchy trousers, white shirt and brogues kind of girl, this book will resonate with you.

Copywriting and Competition for Kismet

No Comments my words, news, style

Check out some copywriting I did for vegan yoga wear brand Kismet for @MyShoppingSpy

If you have a new year’s resolution to get to grips with yoga, or if you are already a pro at the tripod lotus, you will need some cool, comfortable gear to practise in.

Kismet Yogastyle is a new eco friendly yoga label, offering a range of luxury separates, designed to look good on and off the mat. Using carefully selected materials including beechwood, organic cotton and recycled Polyester, the label is perfect for those in tune with the karmic influences that go in to mass-produced clothes, and one that pays it’s workers a living wage.

Believing that yoga wear is about being comfortable as well as chic, the designer behind the new brand, is yoga guru and entrepreneur Sylvia Daun. Having practiced yoga for decades, she is keen to share her passion for the discipline and bring to attention that there is an ethical alternative behind buying your kit.

There is no doubt that your lifestyle choices are affected by popular culture, and it is Sylvia’s goal to promote a change in the way of thinking. Her environmentally friendly label is pathing the way for the future, and hopes to inspire others to follow.

Working with breathable, supportive, fabrics, there is no shortage of style in the range. Yoga pants, strappy bras, leggings and racer back vests are available in an eye-catching range of designs.  With a luxury feel, the range is designed to mix and match; It’s cool enough to wear post class too!

Whether you’re a hot yoga, vinyasa flow or bikram fan, you can feel good both on the inside and out in Kismet Yogawear. It makes sense to love the clothes you’re in, as well as loving your own skin. This small change could be the start of something big.

Dreaming of bags? Try Dreams Code

No Comments fashion, my words, style, Stylist

With China very much on the radar of the fashion scene for 2016, I am delighted to introduce a new  handbag talent, which is made with the softest calf leather and traditional embroidery.

Dream’s Code is a label founded by London College of Fashion graduate, Youmeng Liu. Growing up Southern China, she became fascinated with the local, traditional skill from a young age, and has taken on this practice in her designs.

Historically the craft dates back to the Tang Dynasty, as a was a way of showcasing the craft of needlework by mimicking the natural surroundings. Exaggerated and bold, the scenes of mythical animals, insects, fish, butterflies, birds and flowers, that for centuries, have been adopted by Youngmeng and brought slap bang to the modern day.

Fusing her own spiritual odes to her rich ancestory, she has transformed abstract designs, in to wearable art in the form of practical bags, complete in a range of styles made from top quality British and Italian leathers.

You can see more on her website, and even choose your own design. With everything from purses to clutches to backpacks, there is something authentic and original to tempt all!

The cocktail hour is upon us with these dreamy dresses from Farfetch

No Comments fashion, my words, news, style, Stylist, womenswear styling

I love December and all it brings. Especially all the pretty  party frocks.

It’s not only time to buy pressies for others, but you really should treat yourself too!

That’s why I have fallen in love with the Champagne Hour editorial from fashionista’s favourite website Farfetch. With so many trends to look at for AW, the site is the perfect place for perusing. Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Moschino, McQueen and Saint Laurent. With a whimsical editorial shoot to inspire you, you might want them all. Let’s just hope you’ve been a good girl after all…

Lace, tulle and ruffles might sound a little frou frou, but added to some fierce heels, and spiky accessories, you are ready to take on the season and take no prisoners. Cocktails, champagne and the ambiguous magic slipper, we might make a Cinderella out of me yet!

JAMES BOND is out, so obviously I get to go to the pre-party!

No Comments 55Factory, film, my words, review, style

This week has been pretty bonkers, even in Darlingland!

I had a sneaky insight to the new James Bond movie courtesey of Gillette x Spectre at an exclusive party at the Covent Garden Film Museum. This was compared by film geek and all round nice (tall) guy Vernon Kay who kept us entertained, whilst we seemed to sup neverending  Bollinger and dry martinis of course!

We were also treated to Gillette’s very own “Bond Moments” film which is to co-incide with a campaign to encourage men to feel confident and look their best.

There were plenty of men who were definitely channelling Mr Craig that night, along with some classic Bond cars, a cut throat barber shop, simulated motorbike chase and a good ole fashioned swing band, making it was a night to remember!

And as if by magic, the very next day, I had my interview with Gemita Semarra- the stunt woman you will be seeing alot more of! From Bond to beyond….
