Cellulite be gone

Celluence_Cream

So you might be at a perfect weight for your height but there is still some stubborn lumpy skin.

Sound familiar?

Everyone gets cellulite, and that’s a fact. Even Kate Moss, so it’s no wonder that finding something to get rid of the bumps is an ongoing quest for most.

Having tried rubbing and brushing and massaging, I was resigned that my skin was destined to be dimpled.. But as a las resort, I decided to try Celluence®, which is a two step process to be used twice a day for at least 1-3 months. Obviously this works best with cutting out sugar, alcohol, and upping the exercise routine, so I thought the summer time was the most likely time anyone would get to see my thighs, so why not give it a go?

Feeling slightly dubious that lotions would be the answer to my prayers, I started looking in to the ingredients to see what they were actually meant to do. With horse chestnut, gotu kola, butcher’s broom, cocoa polyphenols, red pine bark, green tea, turmeric, coleus, green coffee, citrus fruit and mint, the combination sounded like something from Harry Potter! But I’ve seen the movies, and  I know that magic can happen…

Celluence_Cream

Using the two Celluence® creams (Phase One + Phase Two) in conjunction with each other, meant that my thighs and bottom got a thorough dosage of the active products, and was almost like taking the best of the best and doubling the results.

Once I got used to the slight tingling- brought about by the mint and lemon peel, the tincture soaked in like moisturiser, so if anything, I could be sure that my skin would be softer than it had been, even if it didn’t look any better! However I continued in my quest for Cindy Crawford limbs, (albeit in my dreams)…And I did wonder whether I would be able to look at my kitchen tumeric in the same way…

Celluence_Cream

To be honest, I had a busy month, and trying to squeeze in gym sessions, birthdays, and a hectic workload, meant that I my rhythm went a little off kilter, and using the lotions twice a day went slightly array, nevertheless, after a month of increasing my gym classes, and drastically cutting down my alcohol, and remembering to apply to apply Celluence® for 80% of the time, I can say I can see a tighter bottom which is definitely not as pocky!

Celluence_Cream

Would I continue with the product? Why not, if I can see a slight result in just over a month, this is bonus for me. There is more to achieve, but like I said, I have softer skin, and I quite like the refreshing tingle, so count me in for the long run.

Prices start from £45 for 100ml to £155 for 500ml.
The creams are exclusively available from lipotherapeia.com/celluence

PINK FLOYD AT THE V&A

No Comments blogger, lifestyle, music, my words, news, review, sara darling

pink_floyd_V&A

Anybody with a cool mum, dad or older sibling will no doubt have some Pink Floyd records in their collection. Known as a band which influenced past generations, they were most known for their psychedelic approach to pop in the sixties and seventies, when music, dancing and experimentation were wild n trippy! Which was later credited to Syd Barrett, as the other members never re-gained the coolness after he left!

For the first time, London’s V&A Museum, has dedicated a retrospective show to celebrate the band in all their glory. Entitled ‘Their Mortal Remains”, the show provides a complete audio and visual journey through the unique and extraordinary lives of the original band members, to the where they are today.

Starting out as a four piece- Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Roger Waters pioneered experimental pop, which was like no other. Popular with the masses, the original songs were social expressions of discontent and flicked their finger up to authority. Fuelled by experimental drug taking, the band were poster boys for the excesses that came with the fame (although they were middle class credible musicians!) However it wasn’t long until Syd Barrett dramatically quit, after experiencing one high too many in 1968….

Replaced by guitarist David Gilmour, the band then took on a much more sensible musical outlook, moving away from fickle pop songs, to longer ballads which wallowed in darkness and melancholy. The infamous album, ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ was released in 1973, and still sells 7,000 copies per week, which is an indication of how influential is still is all over the world.

As you make your way down a darkened corridor illuminated by a holographic representation of the pyramid prism from Dark Side of the Moon, you can hear the song via the supplied Bluetooth headphones which bring the static installations to life.

With the music becoming more musical, the great minds behind the band were still working in overdrive, and the exhibition incorporates the bonkers inflatable flying pigs and sheep from ‘Animals’ and sketches done by political illustrator Gerald Scarfe, designer of the infamous album ‘The Wall’. You can even have a go at remixing their classic tracks.

A totally immersive experience, this will inspire any fan or think they know it all! You get to hear some of the most astonishing music and iconic imagery of the rock era. Even if you are a second generation conformer, this exhibition is a no holds barred exploration of how a band lives, loves and makes music together- plus all the ugly bits!

Make sure you leave time for the highlight of the show when the band reunited for 2005’s ‘Live 8’ concert in Hyde Park, and you can lose yourself in the surround sound and image room listening to the extended version of “Comfortably Numb”.

Bands today could take note of making music for the masses, but there will never be another Pink Floyd!

LHOUETTE ‘POST URBAN GLAMOUR’ art for the twenty first century

POST URBAN GLAMOUR AT 45 PARK LANE

Street art is no longer the bane of the city councillor’s life- forever being bleached off walls, only to return like annoying funghi.

lhouette_45parklane

The transient nature of the fast paced lives we are leading, and the popular culture references that litter our lives, are steadily being transformed into works of art.

The latest collection by artist Lhouette is case in point. Taking some of society’s most recognisable symbols and popular culture creations, he has worked them into beautifully juxtaposed artworks.

The boy from Luton works figurines from his youth, including Officer Dibble, Top Cat and Luke Skywalker into a pastiche of commentary on urban life.

With large and smaller scale assets to his collection, you can see the current exhibition at London’s premiere art hotel, 45 Park Lane. Enjoy the atmosphere, and a cocktail, and if you are considering building up your own treasures of contemporary art, all pieces are available to buy in limited edition until March 26th.

Christmas comes once a year, so it’s time to fashion yourself up!

Christmas Fashion at The Darling Mansions

The time has come to plan my own Christmas wish list, and although I have been leaving (quite a few) hints, I am hoping that something from the following selection will end up in my stocking.

This is my dream Christmas day outfit….

Obviously Christmas means eating more roasties than usual, so this Maison Margiela jumpsuit is the perfect all day loungewear- smart enough to snazz up with these amazing new season Aquazzura leopard and zebra heels, which will add a little Christmas pizazz.

This 80s style leather MISBHV two tone bike jacket with removable sleeves is a perfect statement, and will make my neighbours curtains twitch when I pop out for an afternoon stroll… and this double star ring by Alinka is I need for a subtle statement.

My new years eve is set to be a glamorous affair. With a dress code of silver and gold, I don’t think I can manage the head to toe Barbarella look! However, I am eyeing up this sexy ruffled Ellie Saab jumpsuit, along with the snakeskin McQueen booties to dance away the night.

The classic Oscar De La Renta gold leather jacket will break some matchy matchy rules and of course, every respectable princess has a blinging Rolex timepiece so she knows when it’s midnight!

Happy Christmas to you and yours. And happy shopping too!

TIRED EYELIDS NEED TLC

BIOTRUE DAILY EYELID WIPES ARE THE KEY TO KEEPING FRESH EYES

If you are a regular reader, you will know I am a bit of an insomniac! And the lack of sleep coupled with my over worked, laptop staring peepers, means I’m always trying new potions and lotions to help me not look like I was up half the night!

So when I came across BIOTRUE eye range for eyelids I thought why not! Anything to help refresh my lids at the end of the day, and the handy individually wrapped packs keep the pads safe. Not to be used as a make up remover, so you do all that jazz first, but they are a lovely way to finish off your ablutions and make your eyes feel fresh and perky. I use mine at night, but they would work equally as well in the morning- or anytime your eyes needed a pick me up.

They are brought to you by contact lens experts BIOTRUE, so they are ideal for lens wearers too.

HAPPY 50 YEARS TO THE SUMMER OF LOVE IN SAN FRAN!

No Comments blogger, fblogger, sara darling

I love a travel event, probably because I love to travel, so soaking up titbits of new and exciting destinations always gets me in a fluster!

This week I was delighted to visit a press event hosted by San Fransisco tourism, and along with (possibly one too many) gin cocktail, I got in the summer of love spirit, and embraced my inner hippy at the central London venue “Carousel”.

Along with the delicious cocktails, there walls were decorated with large sized murals, vintage prints from the sixties, and the best psychedelic soundtrack to help the night go with a swing. Even the tacos were authentic! All I can say is roll on 2017- I think I can help the city celebrate it’s 50th in style!

With even more art and some very fancy fashion on my radar, it was a pleasure to rub shoulders with celebs including Tamsin Eccleston and Amber LeBon at the ETRO store, at the launch of ‘My Mother Was A Reeler’ which is a limited edition capsule featuring a selection of scarves and a bespoke clutch bag, by British artist Victoria Morton. There were too many celebs to shake a stick at, and equal measures of champagne! It’s no wonder there were lots of bods on spill watch! But it’s such a gorgeous store- perfect for a party!

I enjoyed a few days by the seaside, cracking on with the first edit of issue 11 of 55Pages- can hardly believe it!!! It’s out a lot later than it usually is, as my partner in crime decided to get married, and pretty much shut down for the month of September!! But we’re back with a bang, and it’s looking hot hot hot!

I’ll have to step away from it this weekend though, as next stop is a press trip to Budapest. CAFe festival here I come….

Happy memories at Hartwell House Hotel

No Comments blogger, hotel, lblogger, lifestyle, review, travel

Hartwell House is fit for a Queen

Live like a Queen, and take a well-deserved break at King Louis XVIII’s, 17th century British base- Hartwell House.

Now is the perfect time for a weekend break in the UK. Even if the weather is a tad temperamental, it is always a treat to jump in the car and head out of town for some R & R.

Hartwell House is the ideal place to visit for some peace and tranquillity; It is also steeped in history, and only a one-hour drive from London, situated in the market town of Aylesbury; This makes it perfect for fidgets/shopaholics, as you can fill your boots at the curio shops in the quaint town or hit bargain hunter’s paradise Bicester Village which is a 25-minute drive away….

TAKE SOME POTTER’S NODOFF FOR A GREAT NIGHT’S SLEEP

No Comments blogger, health & beauty, lifestyle, review

SLEEP: WE ALL NEED IT, BUT HOW MUCH DO WE WANT IT?

If you’re anything like me- I have the 21st century FOMO (fear of missing out), so I tend to cram in as much as possible, as often as possible! And that results in me feeling a little bit jaded from time to time..

So on my days of recuperation, I like to try and catch up on my sleep. Needless to say by then, I am officially exhausted and you would think sleep would come easy.. alas not. It seems whenever I attempt to get my head down at a reasonable hour, my sleep endorphins decide they want to be out dancing. Or starting a provocative conversation with my brain about a deadline. Hence even on those days off, falling asleep is a bit of a mish!

I’ve tried the chill out apps and the pillow spray- all very well and good but not quite effective enough! So when I got my mitts on the infamous Potter’s ‘Herbal Nodoff Plus Mixture‘ I couldn’t wait to see if this would be the answer to my insomnia.

Having produced successful products for years, the white coats behind the Potter’s brand must know something about herbs, and reading between the lines, it is quite a combo of ingredients which help the little sleep zzzzzs..

Valerian is widely used for excitability and exhaustion, (which sums me up rather well), along with Jamaican Dogwood, Passion Flower and Hops- but the potion didn’t look (or taste) as pretty as it sounded! However I persevered, and the tablespoon after dinner and two more before bed hit me like a brick wall! In a good way.

I’d love to tell you I had a great night’s sleep, but I can’t remember… I was out like a light, and felt fresh a a daisy the next day. No dreams, no anxiety, no grogginess. In fact I woke up feeling like I do on holiday- refreshed and raring to go.

I don’t know if it will be quite as effective if you get used to it, but I am definitely keeping this in my bathroom cabinet for emergencies.

The movie of Sid & Nancy

No Comments blogger, film, my words, review

It’s the 40th anniversary of punk, and the 30th anniversary of the Sid & Nancy movie and to celebrate the 1986 film, the Alex Cox cult classic has been restored.

Film biops can go either way, but who better to play the infamous Sid Vicious than Gary Oldman- a man with some serious attitude, along with Chloe Webb as the long suffering girlfriend Nancy Spungen. The film documents one of the most high profile (and destructive) relationships of the era. Providing a vivid portrait of sex and drug abuse, the heart-breaking relationship between Sid & Nancy is a true story and one which tragically ends when Nancy is stabbed by her wasted lover Sid, who consequently dies of a heroin overdose.

Subtle, no, and suitable for a first date, probably not. But as for anyone who loved punk and The Sex Pistols, the original soundtrack and styling make this a film to mark an era.

Out in cinemas on 5th August.
